The Urban Kirtan Initiative is a vision I have of popularizing the sacred chants of the ancient vaisnava/Vedic culture, with special emphasis on the Maha Mantra, the Hare Krishna mantra-Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

My name is Balabhdra Bhattacarya dasa (Benny J Tillman) and I have been practicing and teaching the sacred art of mantra meditation for over 45 years. I have been fortunate to have performed at many festivals and other venues along with my band, Murari Band (www.murariband.com).

I will be posting updates to this site, on upcoming events as well as uploading music that I am currently working on. You will be able to download my music and if you like it then you will be able to support my efforts through Pay Pal.

I am also available to teach and perform kirtan for home or other gatherings.
